Season Preview: Reloaded Cross Country Roster has Championship Aspirations

The Lane Titans 2024 Cross Country season, slated to begin in late August, comes with high hopes and high expectations.

Coach Chris Yorges, in his second season, has loaded the Titans men's and women's rosters with local talent. Yorges is looking to improve on an NWAC second place finish for the men and third place finish for the women and bring an NWAC Championship back to Eugene on November 9th.

The Titan men return two runners from last season, Bryce Lehman and Charlie Page. Lehman placed 28th at last years NWAC Championship, and Page finished 43rd, helping to solidify the teams 2nd place finish,

The Titan women also return two runners from the previous season, Haylee Baldwin and Hannah MacDuffie. Baldwin finished 13th at the 2023 NWAC Championships while MacDuffie placed 25th. MacDuffie also placed 7th in the 3000 Meter steeplechase at the 2024 NWAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Saundra Parsons, the individual champion in the 10,000 Meters at the NWAC track and Field Championships, has also joined the team.

Chris Yorges efforts on the recruiting trail have brought many talented runners onto the team, many of which come from local Eugene high schools. Yorges is expecting the mix of new and returning talent to be a formidible group, and one that is expecting to bring the 2024 NWAC Cross Country Championship back to Eugene.
