The Lane Titans Volleyball team swept the Clark Penguins on Dig Pink Night.
On a night dedicated to fundraising for cancer research, the Titans played inspired.
While Lane has not always found themselves in the win column this season, they have battled, but they could not quite get over the hill they needed to.
Tonight, they found a way to crest that hill they have been climbing.
The first set, like most of their first sets this season, was back and forth, but the Titans were able to put it away 25-21.
The second set was even closer, as the Penguins were not willing to go down 0-2 on the road easily. Clark had a chance to close, but the Titans responded and won the set 28-26 and now lead 2-0.
The Penguins came out strong in the third, opening up a 6-1 lead, but once again the resilience of the Titans showed as they ended the set on a 24-6 run to secure their second victory of the season.
While the Titans are a long ways from battling for a playoff spot this season, this win is an important foundational piece for the program first year Head Coach Keri Green is building.
The Titans are back in action tomorrow afternoon for Sophomore Night against the Mt. Hood Saints. The match will start at 2 PM.
