All No. 1’s in Final Four as Titans Stymie Cardinals 58-42

PASCO, Wash. – The Lane Titans defeated North Idaho 58-42 to advance to the NWAC Women's Basketball Championship Final Four, presented by Sun Pacific Energy, on Friday at Columbia Basin College.

The win for the Titans not only qualifies them for the semifinals for the second-straight season, but also makes it all No. 1 seeds in the Final Four as they join Green River, Columbia Basin and Peninsula. The Titans will take on the Pirates in the second semifinal, Saturday, March 18 at 3 p.m.

The #1-seed Titans (30-1, 15-1 South) used their tough defense to swarm the Cardinals, limiting them to just under 26 percent shooting for the game.

Sierra Scheppele led the way for the Titans with 18 points, connecting on four three pointers and going 6-for-6 at the free throw line. Chloe Daniels added 10 points and Bella Hamel had eight points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

The Cardinals were led offensively by Laney Smith and Meghan Calley who had nine points each.

The Titans advance onto the semifinals, which will take place on Saturday, March 18 at 3 p.m.f
