Nicholas Trubachik
Nicholas Trubachik joined the LCC Track and Field program in the summer of 2024. He will primarily oversee the throwing disciplines but will also assist with the Titan multi-event athletes.
Trubachik is no stranger to track and field in the Pacific Northwest. He competed at Portland State University from 2007 to 2010 and became the Vikings' first All-American since 1996. He was also the first male athlete to compete at the NCAA Division I level for PSU.
He won back-to-back heptathlon championships at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in 2009 and 2010, and he won the decathlon at the outdoor championships in 2008 and 2010. In 2010, Trubachik was named the Big Sky Outdoor Championship Field Athlete of the Meet with his score of 7,390, nearly breaking the all-time championship mark of 7,477 points and qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
At the 2010 NCAA Championships, Trubachik rallied to a seventh-place finish with a score of 7,510, earning All-America honors and the right to compete at the USA Track & Field Championships, where he finished eighth with a score of 7,434. He went on to represent Team USA at the NACAC U23 Championships, finishing second internationally. In 2017, Trubachik was inducted into PSU’s Hall of Fame for his collegiate career.
After coaching at the Division I level, Trubachik continued to coach within the community for the next 10 years across several different sports. His time mentoring young athletes has taught him the value of leadership and community.
Before moving to Eugene, Trubachik and his family spent a few years traveling internationally, working with organic farmers around the globe to perfect their knowledge and skills as they prepare to grow a family and operation of their own in the Eugene area.
