Titans Fall to Tacoma 5-1

The Lane Titans Men's Soccer team dropped on to the Tacoma Community College Titans 5-1 Saturday afternoon.

After a 9-3 blowout of Centralia on Wednesday in their home opener, the Titans struggled out of the gates against another West Region opponent.

Davyd Fedina of Tacoma started the scoring in the 12th minute, scoring the first goal of his eventual hat-trick.

It did not take Fedina long to score his second goal of the day in the 16th minute, putting the Lane Titans in an early 0-2 hole.

Lane had chances to score before halftime but could not capitilize to cut the deficit in half. A momentum shifting goal in the 42nd minute by Tacoma's Jean-Louis Kadima put the Lane Titans down 0-3 going into halftime.

Out of halftime, Davyd Fedina connected on his third goal of the night in the 55th minute. The lead was now 4-0 and a quick goal by Tacoma's Taylor Duffek in the 58th made it 5-0.

Lane finally got on the board in the 84th minute with a goal by Jonathan Colunga, but the lead was too much to overcome and the Lane Titans fell 5-1.

This loss puts Lane at 1-1-0 on the season. A tough matchup awaits them on Wednesday, September 11th, on the road against Highline College.
