The Lane Titans Men's Basketball team clinched a spot in the NWAC Tournament Saturday night with a win over Clackamas.

This will be the teams second straight year making the tournament and their second appearance in three years under Head Coach CJ Edwards.

The Titans honored five graduating sophomores (Silas Wright, Izzy Golden, Lawson Vella, Marcus McKinney, Paul Ebanda) in their final home game as Titans.

Lane had an uncharacteristic slow start to the game offensively, trailing 17-4 midway through the half.

The Titans offense found more of a rhythm but found themselves in a 30-17 hole before a Lawson Vella bucket reduced the deficit to 11 going into halftime.

Silas Wright led the way in scoring with 7 points in the first half.

Despite the scoring difficulties, the Titans fought their way back into the game.

Clackamas led 37-36 with 13 minutes left in the game, but would quickly succumb to the surging Titans.

Back to back threes by Silas Wright and Justin Davis gave the Titans a 42-39 lead.

Clackamas kept the game within reach, trailing by just 2 points with just over 5 minutes remaining.

An and-one by Izzy Golden pushed the lead to 5 points, and was followed by a Brody Roth three to take a 57-49 lead.

The Cougars were never able to close the gap and the Titans ended up taking the game 65-56.

Ben Thornbrue led the Titans in scoring once again with 19 points.

Izzy Golden and Brody Roth both chipped in 12 points each as well.

The Titans will travel to Umpqua on Wednesday in their regular season finale before the NWAC Tournament.
