The Lane Titans Men's Basketball team picked up a crucial win against the Chemeketa Storm Saturday evening.

The Titans came into the game at 6-5 in Southern Region play and sitting in a playoff spot.

After a tough stretch of games for the Titans, a win would be monumental for their NWAC playoff chances.

The Titans started the game in their usual way, firing on all cylinders.

Lane jumped out to an early 10-3 lead before Chemeketa found their footing offensively.

After a mini run by the Storm trimmed the deficit to 2, the Titans responded with an extended run to take a 28-12 lead, their largest of the game.

The Titans maintained their lead for much of the half, until Chemeketa responded in the final minutes, cutting it to a 47-40 lead.

Lane went into the locker room with a 10 point lead.

Ben Thornbrue led the way with 11 first half points and 7 rebounds, 6 of which came on the offensive end.

Justin Davis and Izzy Golden scored 8 points each in the half.

Silas Wright also hit 4 free throws in his return from a 5-game injury abscence.

Despite the deficit, the Storm would not fold.

They kept the game within striking distance for much of the second half, always threatening to cut the deficit once more.

The Titans were able to weather the runs and answer every bucket, keeping the lead near 10 points the rest of the way.

The Titans ended up taking the game 93-85, putting them at 7-5 in league play.

Ben Thornbrue had another massive performance, finishing with 33 points and 10 rebounds on 15-27 shooting.

Justin Davis and Brody Roth both finished in double figures with 11 points each.

Izzy Golden finished with 10 points as well.

The Titans will have a short turnaround before they travel to Gresham on Monday to take on Mt. Hood.
