The Lane Titans Men's Basketball team won a thriller Wednesday night against 7th ranked SWOCC, 79-77.

Izzy Golden proved to be the hero with a game winning three as time expired.

The Titans came in to the game at 3-2 in league play, coming off of a tough road loss on Monday, looking to insert themselves back into the race for a Southern Region title.

Standing in their way was the 7th ranked team in the NWAC, the Southwestern Oregon Lakers, also sitting at 3-2.

Both teams were looking for a pivotal win that had massive standing implications.

The game lived up to the stakes, with Lane jumping out to an early 13-2 lead.

SWOCC, however, answered back with a run of their own, closing the gap and trailing 16-12.

Both teams traded blows, and Lane found themselves leading 24-23.

The scoring cooled down, as both teams physicality started to wear on each other.

A late three by India Mohiduan put the Titans up 39-34 at halftime.

It was a balanced scoring attack for the Titans in the first half, as 8 players were on the board with points.

Brody Roth led the way with 9 points off of three 3-pointers made.

The back-and-forth play continued in the second half, with no team leading by more than 4 points.

With less than 10 minutes to go in the game, SWOCC jumped out to a 6 point lead, 55-49, and the Titans needed an answer.

Brody Roth scored 5 straight for the Titans, keeping them in the game with time dwindling.

An and-one by SWOCC's Kam Dupaix extended the lead to 7, SWOCC's largest lead of the game.

Noah Salmon answered with 5 straight points of his own, cutting the lead to 2 with just over 5 minutes to play.

SWOCC answered with another mini-run of their own, leading 68-63 with 3:30 left in the game.

The Titans responded with a 7-0 run, sparked by an Izzy Golden three, to take the lead back 70-68.

With 1 minute left to play, the Titans trailed by 2 with the ball.

Izzy Golden scored to tie the game up at 72.

The Titans fouled Colby Whicker with 25 seconds remaining, who went 1 of 2 at the Lane, giving the Lakers a 1 point lead.

Joey Banry went on the attack and was fouled with 11 seconds on the clock.

He made both and the Titans led once again and needed one more stop to seal the game.

Colby Whicker got through the Titans defense and scored with 3.6 seconds left in the game, all but sealing what would have been an impressive road win for the Lakers.

Head Coach CJ Edwards called timeout to draw up one last look for the Titans, who had to go the length of the floor in just under 4 seconds.

Silas Wright caught the inbound just beyond half-court, who then fired the ball straight to Izzy Golden on the right wing.

Golden, who was immediately covered, took one dribble to his left, dropping his defender in the process, and let go a desperation three.

Golden got nothing but net as time expired, and was immediately mobbed by his team as the Titans pulled off a last second signature win at home, 79-77.

Golden finished the game with 18 points, 10 of which came in the final minutes when they were needed most.

The Titans move to 13-4 on the year and 4-2 in league play, tied for second in the Southern Region.

Lane will travel up to Clackamas on Saturday for another big matchup.
