The Lane Titans Men's Basketball team had their first home loss of the season Saturday evening against the Portland Panthers.

The Titans came in to today's game 6-0 at home and 2-0 in conference play.

Both teams traded buckets early, and with 6 minutes to go in the first half, the Titans held a 23-21 lead.

The Panthers responded with a run and took a 35-29 lead into halftime.

Uncharacteristically, cold shooting was the story of the half for the Titans, shooting 9-33 from the field and 1-11 from three.

While their percentages improved in the second half, the Titans could never find the run they needed to take momentum back.

Lane trimmed a 12 point lead down to just 3 midway through the second half, but Portland kept answering before taking the game 75-66.

Ben Thornbrue led the Titans with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Izzy Golden finished with 9 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.

This was the Titans first loss to an NWAC opponent this season and drops them to 2-1 in conference play.

The Titans will look to bounce back against Mt. Hood next Saturday after a BYE.
