Lane played their best defensive game of the season in a 79-61 victory over Tacoma.

How it happened: Lane gained their first double-digit lead of the game with 14:33 remaining in the 1^st half, 17-6. Tacoma cut the lead to single-digits a few times, but Lane remained in control throughout the half and used a Lucas Wilson tip-in in the final second of the half to take a 15-point lead to half, 43-28.

Lane held Tacoma to 33.3 percent shooting; which carried an offense that only shot 43.6 percent from the floor and was 2-11 from three. Lane's overall execution was good on offense after only committing one turnover. Lucas Wilson and Tarik Cool combined for 23 points on 9-16 shooting; the rest of the team had 20 points on 9-23 shooting.

A pair of Will Graves threes to open the 2^nd half gave Lane their first 20-point lead of the game, 49-28. Lane would continue their hot start to the tune of an 11-0 run and a 26-point lead, 54-28.

Tacoma cut their deficit to 14 with 4:02 remaining but wouldn't score again until the final 31 seconds.

Tacoma shot 10 percent higher but attempted eight fewer free throws and overall there were 11 fewer shots in the 2^nd half between the two teams.

Lane got back over 50 percent in the half, 56 percent; and eight players scored for Lane.

What/who stood out: The Titans held Tacoma to 38.6 percent shooting and only allowed four made threes; the fewest allowed against an NWAC opponent, the fewest was three against Willamette J.V.

18 fouls were also the fewest against and NWAC opponent; the fewest was 11 against Willamette J.V.; the same can be said about 61 points allowed; 47 vs Willamette J.V. was fewest.

The Titans broke in two new starters, Lezjon Bonds and Lucas Wilson, during the tournament; they combined for 28.7 ppg during the three games. Lezjon Bonds was named to the all-tournament team. 

Tarik Cool had 24 points on 66.7 percent shooting; he added three rebounds and three steals. He was named the tournament MVP and averaged 26 ppg. 

Lucas Wilson had his first career double-double; 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks.

What it means: The Titans go 3-0 at the Walla Walla crossover and move to 10-1 on the season. The Titans are now 2-0 against Coach White's former team.

What's next: The Titans don't play for almost two weeks; with their next game coming on Dec. 28 at Shasta in Redding, CA; the game tips at 1 p.m.
