All-NWAC team | Baseball has two members

Vancouver, Wash. - The Titans had two baseball players receive second team All-NWAC honors for their season performances. First baseman Takanori Shimizu and utility (catcher/short stop/pitcher) Matt Dallas.

Takanori Shimizu is a freshman first baseman from Aomori Yamada, Japan. Shimizu finished 19th in the NWAC in batting average at .347. His conference average was even better at .402. He hit two home runs and had a strikeout-to-walk ration of 15-13 leading to a .404 on-base percentage. For his performance, he was a first team All-Southern Region member and gold glove winner.

Matt Dallas is a freshman utility player from Salida High School in Salida, Calif. He hit .333 (25th) overall and hit an NWAC fifth-best .406 during conference play. On the season he was 12th in ERA at 2.19 and went 6-3 with a save and two complete games, including a complete game shutout against Skagit Valley in an elimination playoff game. Behind the plate he threw out 9-of-27 steal attempts, fifth best among players with equal or more opportunities. Dallas also was a part of six double plays which is the most among players with seven or more runners caught stealing. He was named first team All-Southern Region for his performances.
