Titans concede eight runs in the 1st and loose 15-5 in seven-innings at Mt. Hood.
How it happened: After a flyout to start the game, Riley Howard hit two batters and allowed a single to load the bases. An RBI-walk, RBI-single and sacrifice fly made it 3-0. The Saints would follow with two more RBI-singles before a three-run home run to make it 8-0.
The Titans got on the board in the 3rd after Henry Lovekamp opened the inning with a double and scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-1 Saints.
The Titans got the first two outs of the 4th, but a single and RBI-double made it 9-1 after four.
With Michael Moore on the mound for Riley Howard, the Saints opened the 5th with a single, walk, RBI-single to make it 10-1. A groundout later and the Saints got their 11th run on a wild pitch.
In the 7th down 10 and trying to avoid being run-ruled, Drew Staley was hit-by-a-pitch and advanced to third after two pass balls. Henry Lovekamp then drove in Staley with an RBI-single.
After two singles from Hayden Curtis and Curran Mitzel, the bases were loaded for Takanori Shimizu. Shimizu would walk for the Titans third run and after a sacrifice fly from Matt Dallas the Titans were back within run-rule margins at seven, 11-4. Jaxon Woodhouse would single in Curran Mitzel and make it 11-5 headed to the bottom half-of-the inning.
With the game becoming more competitive, the pitching was not able to hold the Saints down, conceding three singles and a run to open the 7th.
With the bases loaded and two outs Austin Skelhorn was brought in for Michael Moore. The Saints would not get any more hits, but they got three more runs thanks to two wild pitches and a fielding error that made it 15-5 and a run-rule final.
What/who stood out: 10 hits are the 10th double-digit game…three offensive strikeouts is the 25th time in 26 games in single-digits after four-of-five games with 10 plus to start the season…14 hits allowed is the second time in the first three games of the series…14 earned runs is the first double-digit game.
