It took the Titans until the 7th to get the first runs of the game, but they used those two to beat Chemeketa 2-1 behind seven shutout innings from Charlie Patterson.

How it happened: After a leadoff single in the 1st by Takanori Shimizu, the Titans only managed two hits until the 7th inning. In the 7th, Skyler Vail leadoff with a single and advanced to second on an error by the second baseman. A groundout and error later, Curran Mitzel singled home Skyler Vail. A bunt hit by Matthew Aguilar advanced Curran Mitzel to second and Jack Swisher stayed at third. Top-of-the order and Takanori Shimizu came up and hit a sacrifice fly to center to make it 2-0.

After a scoreless eight from Michael Moore and the offense, Chemeketa got their lone run of the game off a RBI-double, which was unearned due to an error prior. Trey Werner got a flyout to left to end the game and earned him the save, 2-1.

What/who stood out: Two runs scored is the second fewest in a win to their 1-0 win at Chemeketa…one strikeout from the offense is the fewest this season and they have four games with two or fewer…one walks allowed is the third game with one…six hits allowed is tied for the second fewest in a nine inning game…two errors is now seven straight games with multiple errors.

Takanori Shimizu went 2-of-2 with a 2B, walk and RBI…Henry Lovekamp had a sacrifice bunt…Hayden Curtis went 1-of-4…Skyler Vail went 1-of-4 with a run scored…Jack Swisher scored a run…Curran Mitzel went 2-of-3 with an RBI…Matthew Aguilar went 1-of-3…Charlie Patterson started and threw seven shutout innings with two hits, one walk and four strikeouts with only 78 pitches thrown…Michael Moore pitched an inning and conceded two hits and struck out one…Trey Werner got the save and threw one inning with two hits one run (unearned).
