Riley Howard struck out 11 over six hitless innings to lead the Titans to a 3-1 win.

How it happened: It was a slow start for both teams as neither recorded a hit in the first three innings. The first hit of the game came from Hayden Curtis and it was a solo home run in the top of the 4th inning.

The Titans got their second run the 5th inning when Drew Staley scored on a balk after doubling two batters earlier.

Then in the top of the 6th the Titans got their third and final run, Matt Dallas doubled in Nathan Sprenger who singled to open the inning.

The Tritons got on the board in the 7th and final inning when they scored on a fielder's choice after three of the first four batters reached base.

What/who stood out: .217 average…three extra base hits is a season-high…one home run is the first of the season…zero walks is the second straight game…10 strikeouts makes three of four games…two hits allowed is a season-low…12 pitching strikeouts is the second most…1.29 ERA is a season-low…zero stolen bases allowed for the second straight game after one in each of first two.

Nathan Sprenger went 1-of-3 with a run scored…Hayden Curtis went 1-of-2 with a home run and sacrifice… Matt Dallas went 1-of-3 with an RBI…Drew Staley went 1-of-3 with a double and run scored…Takanori Shimizu went 1-of-3…Riley Howard got the win and threw 6 hittless innings with one walk and 11 strikeouts…Austin Skelhorn got his second save of the day and threw one inning, gave up two hits, one earned run, walked two and struck out one.
