Emma McDonald, 5'6" shooting guard from Rex Putnam High School, has signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball for the six-time NWAC champion Lane Titans. McDonald averaged 16.4 points, 3 assists and 2.8 steals per game for the Kingsmen this season.
Emma was named First team All-League and honorable mention All-State during her junior season. During her senior campaign she was named Co-Player of the Year and First team All-State leading Putnam to their second consecutive appearance in the state finals.
Along with her athletic accomplishments, Emma was a member of the honor society while compiling a 3.9 GPA for her high school career.
Coach Sheley is hopeful that Emma can help lead the new wave of shooters on the court next season for the Titans. Lane once again lead the NWAC in three- point shooting percentage during their latest NWAC championship run, and Sheley thinks the ball will be flying again next season with Emma and a returning group of sharpshooters.
