The Lane Community College Titans men's soccer fell in double overtime to the Everett Community College Trojans to end the 2022 season. The match was played at a rapid pace that had lead changesand plenty of drama under the lights at Titan Field. Goals by a pair of freshmen Sai Bliss-King and Dan Latinovic was nearly enough to advance the Lane Titans to the NWAC Championships, but past the century mark a scramble in the box resulted in a back post finish by Everett via the league's leading goal scorer River Stewart that slipped past freshmen goalkeeper Tristen McMahan.
"Our guys emptied the tank and gave it everything they had. We played at a very high level, and so did our opponent. This game was everything you want from a college match in November… technical, tactical, and physical from both teams who played to the death." – head coach Max Sampson
An emotional finish to a historic season for the men's soccer program results in many program records including total wins, goals against, undefeated streak, our first regional championship, and 5 All-Star nominations which will be announced this week. The Titans return most of a defensive unit that only allowed 11 goals all season, 3 of which came in the quarterfinal loss last Saturday.
