The Lane Community College men's soccer team won 1-0 in Coos Bay, OR vs Southwest Oregon CC to continue their unbeaten streak in the NWAC south region. Yuki Yamaguchi scored his third goal of the season to put the Titans ahead in the 86 th minute on a left footed strike from the right side of the penalty box which curled around an extended goalkeeper. The win gives Lane 7 points through the first three games which is good for 1 st place standing in the south region. "This was the most physical game I've seen in many years", said head coach Max Sampson, "but I am very happy with the perseverance and resolve of this team to battle and fight the way they did despite the hostile environment. Now we can turn our focus to Portland CC next week." The Titans relied heavily on a 5-man midfield to keep the ball away from the defensive pressure of SWOCC and limit the counter attacks against them. "We felt like we were a lot fitter than the opponent, and we were able to pass the ball around very well which helped us too" said freshmen defender Dan Latinovic.
The Titans return home on 9/21/22 to host Portland CC. Kick off is scheduled for 1:30PM.
