TACOMA — The Lane volleyball team won a pair of matches Friday to reach the semifinals of the NWAC Tournament at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center.
The Titans (25-9) downed Pierce, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19 in the quarterfinals after beating Tacoma, 18-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-13, 15-12 earlier in the day to reach the quarterfinals.
Cassidy Herbert had 13 kills and four aces against Pierce (34-3) and Sophie Johnson added 18 kills. Taylor Russell handed out 34 assists. Against Tacoma earlier in the day, Herbert belted 32 kills and had 22 digs, and Johnson added 24 kills and four aces.
The Titans swept Bellevue in the opening round Thursday, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17. Herbert had 15 kills and Johnson 14 in that match.
