Bellevue, Wash. - The Titans battled but lost the first set 23-25 and fell 2-0 vs Bellevue in their second of three games Friday at the Bellevue Tournament.

Set 1: After winning the first point of the set, it took 36 more points to take their next lead, 19-18, courtesy of a Taylor Russell assisted Sophie Johnson kill.

The Bulldogs won the seven of the next 11 points to take the set, 25-23.

Set 2: In the best two-of-three format, the Titans had the lead at 3-2, 4-3 and 5-4, but Bellevue would go on a 11-0 run to take a commanding 16-5 lead.

The Titans would battle to a 10-17 score line after winning five of six points. The Bulldogs won eight of the last 11 points to win the set 25-13 and the match two sets to love.

Who stood out: Sophomore Taylor Russell had a team-high seven assists … freshman Karah Points was second with five assists … freshmen Sophie Johnson and Cassidy Herbert had team-high five kills … freshman Madison Marlatt had a team-high with five digs … sophomore Saige Brashears had a kill and the Titans lone block (solo).

What it means: The Titans fall to 3-5 on the season and 0-2 vs Bellevue.

What's next: The Titans play Centralia to finish the first day of the Bellevue Tournament at 4:00 p.m.
