Eugene, Ore. – Despite most of the possession, the Titans were down 1-0 at half, an improvement from two four-goal conceded first halves to start the season, but three second half goals put the game out of reach for the Titans in another 4-0 loss against North Idaho.
How it happened:
7' – Chance (NIC) – Madisen Lease who had 14 saves in her last game got an early save to keep the Titans from a early hole.
18' – Chance (NIC) – Anther save from Lease denied North Idaho's Sofie Schnepf for a second time.
23' – Chance (NIC) – Schnepf had another opportunity but Lease was not needed this time as the shot went wide.
29' – Chance (Lane) – Bailey Hart got the Titans first shot on-goal, but Hailee Mize made the save.
35' – Chance (NIC) – Lease makes her fourth save with a stop of Kelsey Wilkins shot.
37' – Goal (NIC) – Berenice Chavez scores on the Cardinals fifth shot on goal of the half.
45' – Chance (NIC) – Lease kept it 0-1 with her fifth save from a Tiana Cydell shot.
47' – Chance (NIC) – Schnepf got the first look for the Cardinal but her shot went wide.
53' – Chance (Lane) – Megan Dodson got a shot on goal to tie the game, but it was an easy save for the keeper Mize.
57' – Chance (NIC) – Chavez's shot goes wide.
61' – Chance (NIC) – Chavez gets another look and puts it on goal, but Lease makes another save.
62' – Chance (NIC) – Another shot that goes wide for North Idaho, this time it was Riley Klauss.
65' – Chance (NIC) – Lease saves Autumn Stewart's shot to maintain a 1-0 deficit.
67' – Chance/Goal (NIC) – Maya Lewis continued the onslaught for the Cardinals, but Lease continued her stellar performance with the save, however she was unable to clear the shot and Hailey Marschll made it 2-0 on the rebound.
76' – Caution (Lane) – Bailey Hart shown the yellow.
77' – Chances (NIC) – Marschall and Jestine Lackner get two shots on goal in 22 second but Lease shot both.
83' – Goal (NIC) – After a slow few minutes, North Idaho put the game out of reach at 3-0 courtesy of Sydney Moore.
87' – Chance (NIC) – Chavez got another chance to find the back of the net, but again was denied by Lease.
88' – Chance (NIC) – The Cardinals continued to push for their fourth goal but Stewart's shot went wide.
89' – Goal (NIC) – After multiple opportunities in the prior minutes, North Idaho got their fourth with Stewart putting it home off a Lewis assists.
90' – Caution (Lane) – Sydney Ricketts shown yellow.
90- Chance (NIC) – Jenna Matier got one last chance for North Idaho but her shot went high.
What/who stood out: Out shot 20-2 … 12 fewer shots on goal … 23 total fouls in a non-conference women's game is quite high and it made sense with the physical nature both sides brought … three Titan yellows was also a large number.
Madisen Lease saw 14 shots on her goal and stopped 10 of them, she has 27 saves in 270 minutes across three matches.
What it means: Just like the men's game before it, the loss does not affect the Titans playoff chances, just their overall record.
