Former Titan sets school record in Decathlon Championship

Former Titan and current Concordia (Portland, Ore.) Cougar Giovanni Brown, re-broke his school record by scoring 7007 points and won the 2019 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). His mark is the ninth best at Division II. 

Brown struggled with his first two events, finishing 10th in the 100-meter (11.78) and long jump (6.24m/25' 5.75"), but he would rebound with a first and two third place finish in the shot put (14.04m/46' 0.75"), 400-meter (50.91) and high jump (1.82m/5' 11.5"). Brown continued with his strong run with first place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (15.08) and discus (45.22m/148' 4"). Brown finished the event with a fourth place finish in the pole vault (4.10m/148' 4"), 10th place finish in the javelin (40.59m/133' 2") and a win in the 1500-meter (4:19.02).

The competition fetured 14 athletes.
