Titans get 2nd and 3rd in Decathlon and 5th in Heptathlon

The Titans earned 14 points for the men's championships and four points for the women's championships after Nathan Poff and Sawyer Christopher finished 2nd and 3rd in the decathlon and Trew Farnworth finished 5th in the heptathlon.  

Men's results:

Nathan Poff finished 2nd with 6126 points and eight championship team points. Poff had the fastest 100-meter time of 11.28, which earned him 799 points…fourth best long jump mark at 6.36m, for 666 points…third longest shot put throw at 11.17m, for 556 points…tied for fourth best high jump at 1.74m, for 577 points…fastest 400-meter time of 52.09, for 721 points and a day 1 total of 3319 points, second most…to open day 2 he ran a 17.40 110-meter hurdle time, fifth fastest and 583 points…fourth longest discus throw of 32.97m, for 523 points…third best pole vault of 3.83m, for 570 points…eighth best javelin throw of 40.20m, for 445 points…and finished with the fastest 1500-meter time of 4:39.02, for 686 points and a total of 6126 points.

Sawyer Christopher finished 3rd with 5959 points and six championship team points. Christopher had the eighth fastest 100-meter at 12.19, for 614 points…tied for fifth best long jump mark of 5.86, for 556 points…second best high jump mark of 1.83m, for 653 points…eighth fastest 400-meter time of 57.17, for 514 points and a day 1 total of 2894 points and fifth place standing…fourth fastest 110-meter hurdles time of 17.16, for 608 points…second best discus throw of 37.03m, for 604 points…second best pole vault mark of 4.03m, for 626 points…best javelin throw of 59.62m, for 732 points…eighth fastest 1500-meter time of 5:11.55, for 495 points and a total of 5959 points.

Women's results:

Trew Farnworth finished 5th with 3247 points and four championship team points. Farnworth had the third fastest 100-meter hurdle time of 17.51, for 540 points…tied for best high jump mark of 1.51m, for 632 points…sixth best shot put throw of 7.74m, for 383 points…fifth fastest 200-meter time of 30.11, for 474 points and 2029 point  total after day 1 and a fifth place standing…fifth best long jump mark of 4.31m, for 381 points…third best javelin throw of 23.87m, for 361 points…fifth fastest 800-meter time of 2:48.84, for 476 points and a total of 3247 points.

All three athletes are freshman and should improve. The 14 men's team points are three more than second place Clackamas and the four team points is third on the women's side.
