MSOC | Titans draw with North Idaho 1-1

Eugene, Ore. – The Titans drew 1-1 with North Idaho. Jake Lambert goal in the 66th minute for the Titans but conceded the equalizer to North Idaho in the 85th.

How it happened:

9' – Save (Lane) – North Idaho got the first shot on goal of the game, but Anthony Armenta made the save to avoid an early deficit.

25' – Save (NIC) – Titans Jose Gonzales put their first shot on goal but North Idaho's Julian Relchold made the save.

30' – Caution (Lane) – Jesus Velazco shown yellow.

30' – Caution (NIC) – Andrew Abalan shown yellow.

33' – Chance (Lane) – Jose Gonzales got another shot, but it went wide right of the goal.

38' – Chance (Lane) – Titans continued to dominate play with a shot by Isaac Reyna that keeper Relchold handled.

45' – Caution (Lane) – Matthew King shown yellow.

45' – Chance (NIC) – Kai Flugel got the Cardinal one last chance to break the scoreless game before half.

59' – Chance (NIC) – North Idaho got the first good look on goal in the second half from Jacob Luhrs. His shot would not contest Armenta as it went high.

66' – Goal (Lane) – The Titans relentless pressure was rewarded off a corner kick with a Jake Lambert goal.

83' – Chance (Lane) – Jake Lambert tried to make it a brace, but his shot was high over the crossbar.

85' – Goal (NIC) – Despite the pressure for most of the game, the Titans slowed down in the final 20 minutes and the Cardinals took advantage of an unmarked player to even the game. A cross from Kai Flugel found a wide-open Noah Dreves on the back post for the equalizer.

What/who stood out: The Titans had the shot advantage, 7-5, and shots on goal, 2-1.

Jake Lambert scored his first career goal … Anthony Armenta had a save, he now had five in 135 minutes.

What it means: The game is a non-conference game, so it was played competitively but the draw won't affect the Titans ability to make the playoffs.

What's next: The Titans begin their conference schedule with a trip to Rogue on Wednesday, Sep. 11 at 4 p.m.
