The Titans were down 17 in the 2^nd half and used a great defensive stretch to comeback and keep pace with 1^st place Umpqua, 76-64.

How it happened: The Titans held the lead for the first 5:31 of the game, but Clark took the lead after an and-one. The Titans then tied the game at 13 with 11:40 remaining.

Clark took their first double-digit lead with 4:40 remaining in the half, 29-18. The Titans scored nine points over the next 3:36 after 18 in the first 15:20, but they were still out scored 11-9 and were down 40-27 at half.

Clark shot 45.5 percent, but the Titans held them to 21.4 percent on 3-14 shooting from three. The Titans struggled to 31.4 percent, 1-10 from three and 4-10 from the free throw line. Rodney Hounshell's six points paced the Titans.

Tarik Cool hit a jump shot to open the 2^nd half but Clark quickly responded with an 8-2 run to the 16:48 mark when they held their largest lead of the game at 17, 48-31.

A 12-2 Titan run to the 12:49 mark forced a Clark timeout. Clark opened on a 5-0 run out of the timeout but the Titans responded with a 20-3 run to take the lead at the 5:10 mark. 16 of the 20 points came from Lezjon Bonds.

Clark cut the lead to one with 4:45 remaining, but a 11-0 run from the 4:30 mark to the end of the game seal a double-digit win in a game that could've been a double-digit loss.

The Titans woke up offensively by shooting 54.5 percent with only three turnovers and seven fouls despite make 0-5 threes. Lezjon Bonds had 19 points off the bench; Cody Mathis had 12 points, nine rebounds, three steals, two blocks and an assist; Rodney Hounshell had another good half with 10 points and five rebounds.

What/who stood out: 42.6 percent shooting is the 5^th straight game under 50 percent after 4 of the previous 5 over 50 percent…one made three is a season-low; four in their loss at Umpqua was the previous low; they are now 7-1 when not make 10 or more threes…four assists are a season-low…seven turnovers makes 3 of previous 4 games under 10 turnovers…15 fouls is five straight games under 20 after 11 of previous 12 NWAC games over 20.

Lezjon Bonds had 22 points and 19 of them came in the 2^nd half; Bonds has  scored in double-figures in his last three games after doing it once in the previous four games…Rodney Hounshell had 16 points and a career-high eight rebounds…Cody Mathis had his 9^th double-double and 7^th in the last 9 games with 14 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks.

What it means: The Titans remain a ½ game behind 1^st place Umpqua at 9-2 and are 20-3 overall.

What's next: The Titans get a bye this Wed. and travel to 7^th place Portland (6-16, 3-8) on Sat. Feb. 16 at 4 p.m.
