The Titans had a 3-0 lead and bases loaded in the top of the 6th, but by the time the inning ended they were down 6-3.
How it happened: In the top of the 2nd the Titans got singles from Jack Swisher and Nathan Sprenger with one out. Both would advance on a wild pitch, but the next two hitters were unable to drive in either.
After reaching on an error to begin the 3rd, Takanori Shimizu advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Skyler Vail and then went to third on a Hayden Curtis single. Shimizu then scored off an RBI-groundout from Logan Zozaya to make it 1-0.
After reaching on a fielder's choice, Curran Mitzel scored on Matthew Aguilar's RBI-double to make it 2-0 Titans in the 4th.
Curran Mitzel drew a walk to begin the 6th, but the next two batters failed to reach. Skyler Vail and Hayden Curtis then walked to load the bases. Matt Dallas then came up as a pinch hitter for Kyle Strange, who pinch hit for Logan Zozaya in the 5th, with the bases loaded. Tacoma countered with a pitching change that would result in a strikeout and the eight, ninth and tenth runners left on base for the Titans.
Things fell apart in the bottom half of the 6th. Donovan Baldocchi gave up a pair of singles to start the inning before being replaced by Jesse Carr. Carr hit a batter and walked in a run before being replaced by Trestyn Dumilieu. Dumilieu continued the pitching struggles, he walked in a run to start, got a pop-up, hit a batter with the bases still loaded, induced an RBI-groundout and gave up a two-run double before getting a strikeout to end the inning, now down 6-3.
Henry Lovekamp led the 7th by getting hit by a pitch. Jack Swisher would follow with a walk. Both advanced off Nathan Sprenger's sacrifice bunt. After a strikeout, Matthew Aguilar singled home Lovekamp to make it a 6-4 deficit.
The Titans would again get two runners on after Matt Dallas and Henry Lovekamp singled, but they were unable to capitalize and fall 6-4 after 1-2-3 top of the 9th.
What/who stood out: Titans left 14 runners on base…team average of .333 vs a .207 Tacoma average…only two of Tacoma's six runs came off a hit…3-for-15 with runners in scoring position; Tacoma was 1-for-7, but got two RBI-walks, one RBI-Hit-by-pitch and one RBI-groundout…nine free bases allowed via HBP and walks vs six from Tacoma; Tacoma had three of their six RBI's come from HBP and walks and three of their six runners who score reached via HBP or a walk…six walks is the ninth time with six or more in a game; the Titans went 7-2 in those games despite giving up 5.44 runs/game thanks to scoring 7.22 runs/game…four runs is a season low for a double-digit hit game…six runs is the most given up off only six hits…zero errors for second straight game.
Skyler Vail went 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored…Hayden Curtis went 2-for-4 with a walk and stolen base…Logan Zozaya has an RBI…Matt Dallas came off the bench and went 1-for-2…Henry Lovekamp went 2-for-4 with a run scored…Jack Swisher went 2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI…Nathan Sprenger went 2-for-4…Matthew Aguilar went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI's.
What it means: The Titans season is over with a 23-20 overall record.
