Titans run-rule Corban 14-3 in 5 innings

Matt Dallas went 1-for-3 with the Titans lone RBI in 15-1 loss vs Skagit Valley at Tacoma Super Regional on Friday, May 17, 2019.

The Titans run-ruled Corban JV in five innings, 14-3.

How it happened: The Titans wasted no time in putting the game away early. Jack Swisher led off the game with a double and scored off of Nathan Sprenger's RBI-double. A walk from Henry Lovekamp and a fielder's choice loaded the bases for Jaxon Woodhouse who drew an RBI-walk. Kyle Strange then hit a two-run single that scored Logan Zozaya and Henry Lovekamp and made it 4-0. Kyle Strange then stole second and put two runners in scoring positions. Curran Mitzel had an RBI-groundout and Drew Staley reached on a fielder's choice that scored Kyle Strange.

After a single by Matthew Aguilar and a strikeout, Nathan Sprenger got his second hit of the inning with a two-run double. Henry Lovekamp kept the line moving with a RBI-double off the right-center field wall. The 10th and final run scored Henry Lovekamp on a wild pitch.

The Warriors got on the board with a two-run home run in the 2nd.

In the bottom half the Titans got a walk from Kyle Strange, a flyout, Drew Staley was hit by a pitch and a strikeout. Jack Swisher came up with two on and two outs for his third at-bat in two innings and hit an RBI-single that scored Kyle Strange. Nathan Sprenger got his third hit and drove in Drew Staley. Jack Swisher then scored after a fielding error that would've ended the inning, but made it 13-2 Titans.

Mitchell Bell worked around a leadoff double to keep the Warriors scoreless in the 3rd. Jaxon Woodhouse led off the bottom half with a single and two batters later Drew Staley singled and scored Woodhouse to make it 14-2.

A bases loaded walk for the Warriors made it 14-3 in the 4th. The Titans got threw the top-of-the 5th scoreless and finished off the run rule win.

What/who stood out: 14 runs scored are a season-high…12 hits is the third-straight double-digit game…four XBH's is the fourth-straight game with an XBH…one stolen base makes four-straight games with a steal…zero errors is the first time in 10 games.

Jack Swisher had a career-high three hits and went 3-of-4 with a career-high two runs scored and an RBI…Nathan Sprenger tied a career-high with three hits and two 2B's and went 3-of-4 with a career-high four RBI's and two runs scored…Henry Lovekamp went 1-of-3 with a walk, 2B and two runs scored…Logan Zozaya scored a run…Jaxon Woodhouse went 1-of-2 with a walk, RBI and run scored…Kyle Strange went 1-of-2 with a walk, a career-high two RBI's and a stolen base…Curran Mitzel went 1-of-3 with an RBI…Drew Staley went 1-of-2 with a career-high two RBI's and two runs scored…Matthew Aguilar went 1-of-3 with a run scored…Trenton Hough went two innings with five hits, two runs and a strikeout…Mitchell bell threw a scoreless inning with a strikeout…Michael Moore threw .1 of an inning with no hits, but one run with four walks…Hayden Curtis threw .2 of a perfect inning…Riley Howard threw one inning with two hits and two strikeouts.

What it means: The Titans remain in 3rd place, but are two games back in the loss column behind Mt. Hood for 2nd place.
