LCC baseball can’t complete sweep at Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Lane Community College split a Northwest Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader at Bellevue on Saturday, winning the opener 6-5 and losing the second game 6-5.

In the win, Curran Mitzel led the Titans' 12-hit attack with three hits, including one of Lane's three triples. Shimizu Takanori also drove in a pair of runs and Curtis Hayden scored twice.

In the second game, Bellevue scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh as Mack Mahovlich hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded.

Logan Zozaya had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Titans, who led 5-4 going into the sixth.
