Eugene, Ore. – The Titans Women’s Athlete of the Week for Feb. 19 through Feb. 25 is Megan Fossen.
Megan Fossen helped to lead the Titans to a 2-0 record with wins at Chemeketa and a home win versus No. 8 Mt. Hood on Saturday.
During the Titans 10-point come back on the road at Chemeketa on Wednesday, Megan Fossen scored a game-high 18 points and added eight assists, five rebounds, two steals and a block.
All 18 of Fossen’s points came after the Titans 10-point deficit in the final three quarters when the Titans had a plus 30 advantage over the final 26:17.
Then on Saturday in a battle with Mt. Hood for the inside track for the second seed in the Southern Region, Fossen and the Titans overcame a third straight double-digit deficit. This time a 12-point deficit in a 62-56 win.
Fossen again led the Titans with 14 points thanks to an efficient 55.6 shooting percentage from the field (5-9) and 80 percent from three (4-5). She added two rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Like the Chemeketa game, Fossen came up big when the Titans were down, scoring 11 of her 18 points in the second half, helping the Titans to a plus 11 advantage and grew the lead to as many as 10.
