TACOMA — The Lane volleyball team saw its season end Saturday with two losses in the NWAC Championship at the Tacoma Convention Center.

The Titans fell in five sets to Spokane in a semifinal match and then lost a two-set match to Piece in the consolation round of the double-elimination tournament.

Lane (26-11) lost 21-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-15, 15-8 to Spokane in the semifinals before falling to Pierce 25-16, 25-11.

Pierce (37-3), which lost to Lane in Friday's quarterfinals, will have to beat Spokane, undefeated in the tournament, twice Sunday to win the championship.

Against Spokane, Cassidy Herbert had 19 kills, Sophie Johnson had 13 kills and Morgan Gray added nine kills and four aces for Lane.

Against Pierce, Herbert had seven kills, and Taylor Russell had 17 assists.
