WVB | Lane volleyball leads division after win over Rogue

The Lane volleyball team grabbed sole possession atop the Northwest Athletic Conference South Division with a five-set victory against visiting Rogue. 

The Titans, who were a half-game behind the Ospreys entering the match, won 21-25, 31-29, 27-25, 13-25, 15-13. 

Cassidy Herbert led Lane (20-8, 11-1 NWAC South) with 32 kills and 25 digs, Sophie Johnson finished with 15 kills and Taylor Russell added 47 assists with 22 digs.

The Titans' lone loss in the past 16 games had come at the hands of the Ospreys (23-3, 11-2), a 3-1 defeat on Oct. 4. Both teams have clinched playoff berths. 

Lane will look to extend its seven-game winning streak against Southwestern Oregon at 2 p.m. Saturday.
