In an elimination game, the Tacoma Titans took down the Lane Titans 25-18 and 25-17.

How it happened: Tacoma controlled most of the first set, but Lane did have the lead 4-2. Tacoma went on a 23-14 run that included winning 9 of 10 points and a 11-5 lead, which led to Lane's first timeout. The timeout didn't change the momentum as Tacoma continued executing offensively. Lane hitting was better in set one than any of the three sets against Walla Walla, at .222 with 12 kills and six errors. Tacoma was very efficient, hitting a match-high .333 with 11 kills, but only three errors.

Set two started great for Lane. They won the first four points and five of six, but another run by their opposition took away a chance at a necessary set win. Tacoma gained their first lead at 8-7 and never relinquished it. Lane made a run to close the gap to 14-15 before an 8-0 Tacoma run basically sealed the game. Tacoma's hitting dropped to .286, but 14 kills on only four errors allowed them to extend points. Lane hit a match-worst .057 and eight kills with six errors.

What/who stood out: Lane only utilized one of their timeouts all match, and Tacoma used none. Lane again had fast starts and leads, but mid to late set runs given up cost them an opportunity to be competitive.

After a few slow games for Hannah Hayes, she hit .364 with six kills and only two errors. Stacia Panther added nine digs to her second best NWAC mark. Sierra Westling and Taylor Russell each had seven assists

What it means: The Titans finish 19-19 on the season and the first NWAC tournament appearance.

What's next: The Titans loose some key sophomores, but they return six of their top seven point per set scorers. They also return their top two assisters in Russell and Westling and their top five blockers statistically. Panther will be a big loss defensively, helping to start points and avoid giving free kills to her opponents.
