The Titans got two goals in the 1st half and a shutout from their two sophomore goalies, Hanalyn Sypher (1st half) and Kaitlyn Weber (2nd half), in 2-0 victory at Titan Field against Portland.

How it happened: Less than two minutes into the game, Danielle VanOrd scored her 18th goal of the season, off a corner kick that she controlled and snuck by the keepers hands. The corner was taken by Bailey Johnson, it was her 4th assists of the season. Then, in the 29th minute VanOrd and Johnson swapped roles as VanOrd found Johnson on a long connecting pass from the middfield. Johnson then beat the keeper one-on-one for her 11th goal and VanOrd's 6th assist. Hanalyn Sypher got the start and was replaced at the start of the 2nd half by Kaitlyn Weber. The Panthers were more agressive in the 2nd half, but with the exception of a shot by Esmeralda Sanchez that hit the cross-bar, Weber and the Titans recorded their 11th shutout.

Notable players and stats: For VanOrd, her four points moved her into a tie for 2nd in points in the NWAC with 42. Bailey Johnson's 11th goal moved her into second place for the Titans, and her 26 points and are third on the team. The 11th shutout for the Titans are now the most in the NWAC, breaking a tie with south rival Clark and four others.

What it means: The Titans were locked into the 2nd seed coming into the game, so the win didn't affect their standing.

What's next: This was the final regular season game for the Titans. Their next game is a home playoff game at 1:30 pm on Oct. 31. Their opponent is the 3rd seed from the east, which could be any of the top five teams: Spokane, North Idaho, Walla Walla, Yakima Valley or Columbia Basin.
