Titans blew a 14-point halftime lead in their first loss in their last 16 games at Umpqua, 91-87.

How it happened: The 1^st quarter was competitive with neither team leading by more than five points. Mya India Thomas closed the quarter with a layup to cut the deficit to one point.

The Titans shot a solid 47.1 percent from the field and got seven points from Megan Still and six points from Kylie Guelsdorf.

The Titans opened the 2^nd quarter on a 16-1 run in the first 6:08. They led by 14 at half, 46-32.

Kalina Rojas had seven points and three rebounds; Emma Jones had seven points and two steals. The Titans shooting dropped to 40 percent, but they held Umpqua to 18.2 percent shooting.

The 3^rd quarter was the opposite for the Titans from the 2^nd; despite scoring four of the first six points of the quarter, the Titans allowed a 16-2 run over 3:30 and were down 53-52. Kalina Rojas made a layup to regain the lead with 3:08 to go, but Umpqua finished on a 8-2 run.

The Titans shooting dropped for the third straight quarter, dropping to 25 percent and 0-5 from three. Fouls were a big problem for the Titans; they committed seven fouls and had three players committed two, including Kylie Guelsdorf who picked up her third and fourth fouls in only two minutes.

Umpqua shot 63.2 percent and the only saving grace for the Titans was the 1-6 mark from three and 5-9 mark from the line for Umpqua.

A 7-0 run from Umpqua significantly reduced the chance the Titans had in coming back to begin the 4th. Kylie Guelsdorf made a layup to cut the lead back to single-digits, but 19 seconds later she committed her 5^th foul and with her went the last chance to win for the Titans. The Titans did have a 10-3 run from the 2:19 mark to the 16 second mark, but two made free throws by Umpqua sealed the game, 87-91.

The Titans shot 57.9 percent from the field, but the defense allowed 52.9 percent and 13 free throw attempts. Mya India Thomas had 13 points; Emma Jones had a nice run with five points, three rebounds and an assist before fouling out.

What/who stood out: The Titans allowed 53 percent shooting despite allowing sub-20 percent shooting in the 2^nd quarter…29 free throws conceded…8 assists was a season-low; previous low was in their first loss at Lower Columbia when they had 12…87 points is now six of seven with 80 plus…24 fouls committed was a season-high; last two games were the first time with 20 plus fouls in eight games…five made threes were the second fewest to the one made in their first win vs Columbia Basin….in their two losses, the Titans make three fewer threes/game and shoot 13.4 percent lower; they average 11.9 fewer assists/game; 4.6 more fouls/game; 6.2 percent lower shooting; 7.4 fewer made free throws/game.

Kalina Rojas had her second straight 20-point game and she added a career-high 14 rebounds for her third straight double-double…Kylie Guelsdorf had been the engine for the Titans offense, but she only had 10 points, two assists, one rebounds and one steal due to fouling out in 10 minutes; this was her third time fouling out…Mya India Thomas had 19 points and four rebounds…Megan Fossen had 13 points and six rebounds…Emma Jones had 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

What it means: The Titans are now tied for 1^st with Umpqua at 7-1 and drop to 19-2 overall.

What's next: The Titans travel to 4^th place Chemeketa (10-9, 5-3) on Saturday for their game at 2 p.m.
