Another near triple-double from Guelsdorf lead Titans by Roadrunners

The no. 1 Titans were plus 34 in the final three quarters in their 85-46 win at Linn-Benton.

How it happened: The Titans gave up nine of their 16 points to Kalli Frieze in the 1st quarter despite leading 17-6 mid-way through the quarter. The Roadrunners finished on a 10-4 run in the final 3:15, but the Titans led 21-16.

Megan Still had nine points; Kalina Rojas had six points and four rebounds. The Titans shot 60 percent from the floor.

Frieze hurt the Titans again, scoring nine of the Roadrunners 12 2nd quarter points. The Titans scored 10 straight points after giving up an early three. The Titans would extend their lead to 15 before half, 43-28, thanks to a Mya India Thomas jump shot.

The Titans shot 56.3 percent from the floor and held the Roadrunners, not including Frieze who was 3-4, to 14.3 percent shooting. Kylie Guelsdorf had seven points and four assists; and the bench had eight of the Titans 22 points.

The Titans scored 18 of the first 21 points and took control with a 30-point lead with 3:16 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

The Titans held Frieze scoreless and held the Roadrunners to 14.3 percent shooting. The Titans struggled as well from the field, shooting 36.4 percent shooting. Megan Fossen and Kalina Rojas had six points apiece; Kylie Guelsdorf had a well rounded two points, three rebounds and two assists.

The 4th quarter was back and fourth until the last few minutes when the Titans extended their lead further thanks to a 10-2 run to end the game.

Megan Fossen and Megan Still each had seven points and Kylie Guelsdorf had two points, three rebounds and four assists. The Titans shot 53.3 percent and held down the Roadrunners, again, to 28.6 percent shooting.

What/who stood out: The Titans committed a season-low five turnovers… shot 50 percent, only the second time at or above 50 percent shooting during six conference games….11 free throw attempts ties a season-low, at Clark was the other game.

Kalina Rojas recorded her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in only 21 minutes…Kylie Guelsdorf had to settle for her first career double-double after narrowly missing another triple-double with 13 points, 12 assist, eight rebounds, two steals and only two turnovers.

What it means: The Titans remain undefeated and atop the Southern Region at 6-0 and 18-1 overall. They've also now won 14 straight games after their loss to Lower Columbia on the road in December.

What's next: They host 4th place Clackamas (8-7, 4-2) during Jam the Gym on Saturday at 2 p.m.
