The Titans returned from their holiday break with a 98-50 victory over Pierce at the Chemeketa Holiday Classic.
How it happened: The Titans held the Raiders to 20.7 percent shooting in the first half and only allowed 15 points. The Titans shot 57.5 percent from the floor and only committed three turnovers and five fouls. Megan Fossen, Meagan Briggs and Megan Still scored seven point to end the half with the lead at 35.
Kylie Guelsdorf led all scorers with 13 points; she added three assists, two rebounds and a steal. Megan Still had 11 points, three rebounds and two steals. Meagan Briggs led all players with six rebounds and added 10 points on 5-5 shooting.
The Titans largest lead of the game came with 4:17 remain, 84-33. The Titans had assists on 14 of 19 made field goals and shot 57.6 percent from the floor. After three first half turnovers, the Titans struggled with 10 in the second.
Aolani Talamaivao-Calderon went off for 17 points on 8-9 shooting. Mya India Thomas had 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Overall nine Titans scored in the second half.
What/who stood out: The Titans held the Raiders to 27.7 percent shooting and shot 57.5 percent. The Titans also only committed 13 turnovers and 12 fouls. The 25 combined turnovers and fouls were the fewest the Titans have committed this season; the previous low was 30 vs Centralia at the Titan Classic.
Kylie Guelsdorf had 15 points and eight assists. Meagan Briggs had 10 points and six rebounds off the bench; Megan Still had 14 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists; Mya India Thomas had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals; Aolani Talamaivao-Calderon lead the way with a career-high 21 points and shot 10-11 from the field.
What it means: The Titans move to 11-1 and looked very sharp despite not playing a game for 12 days. The Titans have now won eight of their 11 games by double-digits. The 48-point win allowed all 12 of the eligible Titans to play.
