T&F Alumni | Ben Kelly of Iowa State named an All-American

Eugene, Ore. – Former Titan sprinter Ben Kelly named second team All-American for Iowa State.

As a freshman in 2015 at Lane, Kelly won the 100-meters, finished second in the 200-meters and was a part of the 4x100-meter relay team that won an NWAC championship. He was a part of the second fastest relay team in school history is 2016 when they ran a 40.95 in the 4x100-meter relay, is a part of the fifth fastest 4x100-meter relay team in 2015 and holds the tenth spot in school history in the 200-meters at 21.57.

As a Cyclone, Kelly qualified for the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships with the 4x400-meter relay team in 2016. Earlier that season he ran the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that broke the indoor school record at the Alex Wilson Invitational in 2017.

After not competing during the 2017-18 season, Kelly was a part of the 4x400-meter relay team that qualified for the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. His relay team was second at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in 2019. Their time at the Big 12 Championships is good for fourth fastest all-time at ISU at 3:05.50.
