In 2019 the Titans made it to the super-regional round where they were eventually eliminated by host Tacoma. The Titans finished with a 23-20 overall record and a 14-10 conference record and third place finish. Coach Blunt now has a 234-177 overall record at Lane. He had two All-NWAC second team members in 1B Takanori Shimizu and Catcher/SS/Pitcher Matt Dallas. He also had four All-Southern Region first team members: 1B Takanori Shimizu, SP Charlie Patterson, DH Jaxon Woodhouse and C/SS/P Matt Dallas and one second team member: 3B Henry Lovekamp. Takanori Shimizu (1B) and Curran Mitzel (CF) won gold gloves. 

In 2018 the Titans went 25-27 overall and finished 2nd in the Southern Region at 17-15. Coach Blunt is now 211-157 at Lane. 

In 2017 the Titans finished with a record of 28-21 and had two draft picks, Kyle Keith (22nd RD – Ranger’s) and Austin Crowson (26th RD – Yankee’s). On top of having the most draft picks in the NWAC for 2017 season the Titans had two former players offered pro contracts, (Trevor Casanova – 14th RD – Mariner’s) and Kyle Beam (Brewer’s).

In 2016 Coach Blunt led the Titans to a 2nd place finish in the NWAC Southern Region and finished with a record of 29-14. Since taking over the program, Coach Blunt has guided the Titans to a cumulative record of 158-109.

In 2013 Coach Blunt coach eventuall Los Angeles Angels 3rd round pick (95th overall) Keynan Middleton. Middleton has appeared in 80 games with a 6-1 record and 9 saves through the 2018 season, which was cut short by a torn UCL in May. 

Coach Blunt comes to Lane from West Valley College in Saratoga, CA. While at West Valley, where he achieved a total record of 167-75 which was the 5th most wins for a community college in the entire State of California. In 2008, he led the Vikings to a state best record of 40-10 and the school’s first ever Final Four appearance. He also fundraised 1.4 million dollars to build a state-of-the-art batting facility.

Prior to coaching at West Valley, Coach Blunt coached at Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA as the associate head coach. He was in charge of infielders and catchers, running the offense, and coached 3rd base.

In 2003, Coach Blunt was an assistant coach at Sam Houston State, a Division I school in Huntsville, TX, where he was in charge of catchers and hitters and assisted with recruiting.

From 1999-2002, Coach Blunt was an assistant coach at Florida powerhouse Okaloosa-Walton Junior College (now called Northwest Florida State) in Niceville, FL. His primary responsibilities were to manage the pitching staff and recruiting. His 2001/2002 recruiting class had 14 players that went on to be drafted. During Coach Blunt’s three years at OWCC, the team won the conference and placed second.

Coach Blunt began his college coaching career in 1997 at North Florida Community College in Madison, FL where he was in charge of pitchers and catchers, as well as the recruiting coordinator. While at North Florida, the team achieved an overall record of 98-44. Coach Blunt’s successful recruiting efforts resulted in 20 players receiving Division I scholarships.

Coach Blunt earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and completed his Master’s degree in Kinesiology at Valdosta State University.

Coach Blunt resides in Eugene, Oregon with his wife, Amanda, and their son, Trent.
