Titans beat Corban 10-4

Titans work around some walks and errors in 10-4 win vs Corban JV.

How it happened: The Titans gave up a run in the 1st after a single and error put the leadoff man at second. A flyout that advance the runner to third and a sacrifice fly scored the run to make it 1-0 Warriors.

In the bottom half-of-the 1st the Titans got singles from Takanori Shimizu and Nathan Sprenger. A fielder's choice and walk loaded the bases for Jaxon Woodhouse with one out. Woodhouse would single in the tying run in Nathan Sprenger. Logan Zozaya then hit a two-run single that gave the Titans a 3-0 lead.

Drew Staley singled and Takanori Shimizu walked to leadoff the 2nd. After a flyout Hayden Curtis doubled off the right-center field wall and drove in both runners to make it 5-1. The Titans would draw another walk but would not score.

A walk and error after a strikeout to start the inning put runners on first and second in the top-of-the 3rd. Two more walks loaded and then scored a run to make it 5-2 Titans. A sacrifice fly to right made it 5-3.

The Titans wasted no time in the bottom half as Kyle Strange singled and stole second, Curran Mitzel walked, Drew Staley singled and Kyle Strange scored on an error by the left fielder; there was no RBI awarded because Strange wouldn't have scored if there was no error. A stolen base by Curran Mitzel forced a bad throw by the catcher and allowed Mitzel to score. Nathan Sprenger singled in Drew Staley with one out to make it 8-3 Titans. A second double by Hayden Curtis gave him three RBI's in the game. Jaxon Woodhouse got the Titans into double-digits with an RBI-single that scored Hayden Curtis and made it 10-3.

After a scoreless 4th inning, the Warriors scored the final run of the game on an RBI-groundout that came after a hit-by-pitch and two wild pitches.

A pair of scoreless innings in the 6th and 7th by Trestyn Dumilieu gave the Titans game 1, 10-4.

What/who stood out: 10 runs scored is the third double-digit game this year…12 hits is the eighth double-digit game…two XBH's makes nine-of-10 games with an XBH…two offensive strikeouts makes four-of-five with two or fewer…two stolen bases is the third straight game with a steal…four runs conceded makes four-of-five with four or fewer and 13-of-15…two errors is the ninth straight multi-error game.
