Lane baseball falls to Lower Columbia in walk-off

LONGVIEW, Wash. — Lower Columbia scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Lane, 9-8, in the second game of their doubleheader on Saturday.

The Red Devils also won Game 1, 5-3, as they swept the four-game series.

In the second game, Drew Staley scored on an error to give Lane an 8-7 lead going into the final inning. But Lower Columbia was able to string together a pair of hits and a walk off Lane pitcher Matt Dallas in the bottom of the seventh, leading to the tying and winnings runs. Dallas led the Titans at the plate, hitting a pair of doubles and driving in two runs. He also scored two runs in the seven-inning game.

In the first game, Lower Columbia again scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and held on to win the nine-inning game. Skyler Vail led the way with a pair of hits and an RBI for the Titans.
