PASCO, Wash. – The Lane Titans won their second-straight NWAC title and seventh overall, defeating Umpqua 62-49 in the finals of the 2024 NWAC Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Golf Universe, on Sunday night at Columbia Basin College.

The Titans (30-2) become the first program to win back-to-back championships since they did so back in 2006-07. The championship is the seventh all-time for the Lane women's basketball program, the most all-time in conference history. All seven titles have come since head coach Greg Sheley took over the program as he extended his historic run with seven championships in the last 17 tournaments.

In a matchup featuring the top-two seeds from the South Region, the Titans and Riverhawks (28-5) met up for the fourth time this season. With Lane having won two of the three previous contests, the Titans continued their advantage in the fourth and final matchup.

After a tight first quarter with the score tied at 19, the Titans put together an impressive second quarter with a 20-7 advantage to take a game-high 13 point lead 39-26 into the halftime locker room. The Titans never allowed the Riverhawks back closer than eight points, answering any baskets that UCC had.

Tournament Most Valuable Player Micah Wicks led the Titans with 25 points, five rebounds and five assists in the game. She also went 12-for-14 from the free throw line to help put the game away. Wicks averaged over 15 points per game, four assists and four rebounds in the tournament with her best games coming in the finals and semifinals.

Lane sophomore Chloe Daniels, who will finish her Lane career with back-to-back titles, had 20 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Emma McDonald had seven points, five rebounds and four steals.

For the Riverhawks, Brooklyn Fely provided more than half of the team's offense with 26 points and 12 boards. Emma Aiono had seven points and seven rebounds.

The Titans finish the year with a second-straight 30-win season and will look for title number eight in 2025.
