Defense Leads Lane Back to Final Four with 60-46 Win Against Edmonds

PASCO, Wash. – The defending champion Lane Titans are heading back to the Final 4, defeating the Edmonds Tritons 60-46 in the Elite 8 of the NWAC Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Golf Universe, on Sunday at Columbia Basin College.

The Titans (29-2) never trailed in the game as they continued their excellent defensive play in the tournament. Lane limited Edmonds to just 24.6 percent shooting overall and 5-for-19 on three pointers.

Guard Emma McDonald kick started the team's offense with 15 of her 20 points in just the first quarter as she knocked down four three pointers. Then in the second half, the Titans went down low to their posts as Brook Stookey got going with 19 points and nine rebounds while Chloe Daniels added 16 points and seven boards.

Edmonds got another strong game from Jada Walters who had 18 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks and four steals. Keira Slipper added nine points and Dreanna Jackson had eight.

The Titans return to the Final 4 for the fourth straight tournament. The defending champions will join Umpqua, Walla Walla and Columbia Basin in next week's semifinal round. The Titans will face host Columbia Basin in a highly anticipated matchup on Saturday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at Holden Court.
